Did you know that adding an aerator to bathroom sinks is a way to conserve water? Aerators work by adding air to the stream of water which reduces the amount of water going through the tap.

Without an aerator, most faucets flow at a rate of about 2.2 gallons per minute, but with an aerator that’s reduced to 1.5 gallons per minute or less! The average family can save up to 700 gallons of water a year, just by adding aerators to their faucets.

If you need a faucet aerator and are an Arizona Water Company customer, you can get one through the Free Conservation Kit program. Request a free kit here: bit.ly/3ZipFHG

Did you know that replacing an older washing machine with a new, high-efficiency model is a way to conserve water? Another way to conserve with the washing machine is to make sure it is a full load. Standard washing machines typically use 19 gallons or more of water per load.

High-efficiency washing machines reduce water usage by 6-12 gallons, depending on the model. If used properly, high-efficiency washing machines can reduce your household water usage by up to 80%. Some homes even have a laundry-to-landscape system where washing machine water can go to trees and other landscape plants to conserve water.
